THE GIFT OF YEARS

Growing older has its challenges. We want to live a long life, but we don’t necessarily like the idea of being old. For some, the best of life seems over as early as the age of fifty, yet others still have a zest for life at ninety. What characteristics help one embrace later years? WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO LOVE OR PRAY FOR MY ENEMIES?

“Love your enemies … pray for those who maltreat you,” Jesus says. “Say what? Why?” we reply. What happens when we don’t feel like loving or praying for those we find annoying, aggravating, hateful, or downright evil? How do we get to the place where we actually desire to live Jesus’ words? CABIN FEVER SURVIVAL

February 21 – Wednesday

The Scandinavian people of Norway and Denmark experience some of the longest and darkest winters on Earth, yet they are some of the
happiest people. Come learn about the wisdom of a “hygge” (Danish) and “koeslig” (Norwegian) and how you might apply their techniques into the creation of your own cabin fever survival kit. Suggested Donation: $10. Register by Monday, February 19.

WRITERS GROUP

Writers of every level and genre are welcome to join this newly forming group. Bring your lunch and a copy of your writing for feedback (1- 4 pages). YOGA AND PRAYER

All are welcome, no matter your level of experience with yoga or your familiarity with Christian prayer. Yoga instructor Briea Tlusty and Sister Julia will guide you through a morning designed to help you connect to God with your mind, body and spirit. Suggested offering $20.00. SPIRITUAL TOOLS FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Everybody gets stressed out and when we do there are quick ways that we can use our breath, mind, and body to shift our mood. Sometimes when we feel overwhelmed our own personal resources are the best way to pick ourselves up. This interactive workshop will explore real and practical spiritual tools that we can use in times of stress. Suggested offering $10.00. Register by Thursday, February 22.

HEART OF ADORATION

February 27 – Tuesday

Guest Presenter: Sarah Hennessey, FSPA, Eucharistic Adoration Coordinator at St. Rose Convent in La Crosse
Eucharistic Adoration is a door that we can walk through to a lifestyle of deeper awe, empathy, and service. Sister Sarah joins us from St. Rose Convent in La Crosse, Wisconsin where the tradition of 24/7 Eucharistic adoration has been kept alive for over 139 years. With her, we’ll survey a basic history and a contemporary view of adoration, consider 10 tips for adoration and 8 ways adoration can change our lives. Then, we will practice adoration together. This program will occur at Holy Family Catholic Church, 8950 County J, Woodruff, Wisconsin. Suggested offering $10.00. Register by Monday, February 26.
