MIXED MEDIA: OIL PASTELS WITH WATERCOLOR
July 1 – Monday

“Oil and water don’t mix” but used together in painting can produce very interesting and unique effects. Let’s explore using these two mediums together in a floral or landscape painting. Bring some photos or a plan for reference(abstracts work well, too,) a watercolor pad or stretched watercolor paper mounted onboard that you can lift and tilt (140# hot press is the best but cold press works, too). Also bring scrap pieces of watercolor paper to experiment on and watercolor supplies. Fee: $30.00. Bring alunch. Register by Monday, June 24.
MIXED MEDIA: ACRYLIC PAINT, METALLICS, PASTEL
July 2 – Tuesday

Experiment and loosen up paintings with a combination of mixed media for a jewel of a painting. From a photo or design each person will develop a semi to abstract composition. From thumbnail sketches each will choose and draw onto pastel board their painting composition. The gold leaf and acrylic under painting will be applied followed by pastels and other media. Bring photos or designs of any subject with sharp contrast in light and dark (abstract, floral, landscape) and soft pastels. A pastel board, acrylic paint, and gold leaf will be provided. Fee:$30.00. MIXED MEDIA: BRUSHO INKS AND WATERCOLORS

Brusho powders are fine crystals of dye based ink that can add a colorful flair to your art. Their use carries an element of surprise that frees the imagination. The Brusho powders will be available for class use. They work on all water color paper and Yupo. Bring a stretched watercolor paper or pad. Yupo paper will be available for all to experiment. Bring your watercolor supplies. Fee: $30.00. Bring a lunch. Register by Monday, June24.
