CARD-MAKING/SMALL PAINTINGS: GELLI PRINTING

November 4 – Monday
9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Gelli printing is done on a gel plate which produces a mono-print plate that can be used repeatedly. We will use acrylic paints, brayers, stencils and a variety of found textural stamps with a Christmas theme. The process is quite simple. Bring any of the above materials with you. One can paint, draw or stamp on the prints or mount them on cards or finish off as small paintings. Fee is $30. Bring a bag lunch. CARD-MAKING/SMALL PAINTINGS: IRIS FOLDING

November 5 –Tuesday

Iris folding is a delightful, fun and relaxing paper craft activity. Using Christmas symbols as templates we will create designs out of lightweight paper to place on cardstock for hand-made Christmas cards. The project can easily be continued at home. Bring a sharp scissors, lightweight Christmas wrapping paper, and transparent Scotch tape. Bring a bag lunch. Fee is $30. Register by Monday, October 28.

CHURCH SECRETARIES DAY of RETREAT

November 6 – Wednesday
9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Church secretaries and office personnel are often on the “front line” of ministry, representing their parishes/congregations in many ways. Your valuable ministry needs you to seek “time out” to renew yourself plus share supportive ideas. This day is designed especially for you! Suggested offering $30 per person or $50 for two or more from the same parish church or cluster. Includes lunch. Register by Thursday, October 31.

DEATH CAFÉ

November 7 – Thursday

For many to speak of death is uncomfortable, even frowned upon. Still we have questions, feelings and wonderings about death that we would like to talk about. Death Café is an open, respectful and confidential space to express one’s views and beliefs or ask one’s questions about death. There is no intention of leading participants to any particular conclusion or course of action. Donations welcome. Register by Monday, November 4.

SPIRITUALITY & SCIENCE (IONS)

Ron Cortte will present “Circle of Health: A Perspective on Balance and Wellness. “He will explore health in the context of life balance, mind, body, and spirit. Join us to discover how a sense of purpose, loving relationships, healthy lifestyle choices, community, spirituality, etc. can contribute to holistic lifestyles. MONASTERY LUNCH

Nourish your body with a hearty soup and warm homemade bread while nourishing your spirit with spiritual reading and Gregorian chant. We’ll dine non loqui (without words), but share insights after the meal. Bring a robe to wear (your bathrobe wil do). Suggested offering $15.

DISCERNMENT: Turning Towards the Spirit

Everyday we are constantly faced with decisions. Many times we decide without even thinking about it. If we listen, the spirit is there to guide us. Discernment is the practice of listening for the voice of the spirit through reason, feelings, imagination, the body, intuition, and even nature. This workshop will equip you with prayerful and practical ways that will help you better discern. PRAYING ON UNKNOWN PATHS

There are many ‘ways’ to learn in life: the way to brush your teeth, tie your shoes, print, pray, the way to school, church, work, etc. Sometimes there are different ways to do the same thing! What happens in life when we when we don’t know which ‘way to go’, or which ‘way’ to pray? Come explore praying on unknown paths. Suggested offering $15. Please register by Thursday, November 14.
