“Living as a mystic means orienting the whole of yourself toward the sacred…of purposely looking through the lens of love…The universe responds to your willingness to behold the holy by revealing almost everything as holy…This is what it means to be a mystic. To show up for what is, to be present to all that is, to take refuge in the boundless intimacy of exactly what is.” (Center for Action and Contemplation, September 24, 2024)
This quote from Mirabai Starr captures the essence of being an EVERYDAY MYSTIC. For those who are open to the possibility of intimate encounters with the Ultimate Reality, every day holds the potential for mystical experience. When these experiences happen, they are anything but common, “everyday” occurrences; however, they are not the sole privilege of uncommon people. Are you an EVERYDAY MYSTIC?
If you are an everyday mystic—or if the idea intrigues you—you are invited to join the monthly Everyday Mystics group at Marywood Spirituality Center. This is a new group, so we’ll offer two meetings in April to get the group off to a good start. You are welcome to attend either or both of these sessions. We’ll open our time together with a centering experience and a short reflection to spark our conversation. Refreshments will be served.
