Oil and Cold Wax Painting

DATE: June 23 - 25, 2025
TIME: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
LOCATION: Marywood Franciscan Spirituality Center
INVESTMENT: $125 for all three days or $50 each day

Cold wax medium is applied to oil paints to increase transparency and workability.  The process allows a person to build up textural effects and transparent layers.  We will create abstracts and landscapes as we learn to paint with the wax and oil paints.  We will have an introduction to medium and a variety of applications throughout the days. The workshop will provide cold wax, oils and surfaces to paint on. If you have any previous unwanted paintings this is a perfect time to continue to cover or restart on a canvas or canvas board.  Participants bring any oil paints you might have and paper towels, and old dog paintings.  Oils and cold wax can cover water media, such as watercolor and acrylic.

Workshop fee: $125.00 for all 3 days or $50.00 for each day.

Pre-register by June 16. Bring lunch each day. Please contact Marywood by calling 715-385-3750 or by emailing marywood.center@gmail.com to register.
