A FSPA Sponsored Spirituality Center

The Marywood Franciscan Spirituality Center is a sponsored ministry of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration (FSPA). FSPA is a community of vowed Franciscan women centered in Eucharist, committed to be loving presence through prayer, witness and service.

FSPA’s sponsored spirituality centers are a response to people’s desire to grow in relationship to God, creation, others and self. Their spirituality are an expression of FSPA’s call to balance contemplation, ministry and creative ways of living community. In addition to Marywood, FSPA sponsors the Franciscan Spirituality Center in La Crosse, WI and the Prairiewoods Spirituality Center in Hiawatha, Iowa.

Prayer Requests

FSPA in LaCrosse, Wisconsin have been praying before the Blessed Sacrament continuously since August 1, 1878, representing the nation’s longest-running, non-stop prayer vigil. Request prayers by visiting the FSPA website at www.fspa.org.

Affiliation

As a community we share with you the values inherent in a Franciscan way of life:

  • Movement Toward the Poor

We attempt to express these values in our prayer, ministry and community.

Affiliates of the FSPA seek to grow in spirituality and community following the Franciscan charisms. 

Each affiliate is matched with a companion who journeys with him or her for one and a half to three years during the formation process, through monthly meetings within their locale. The formation process involves reading a guidebook specific to the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration as well as “Build with Living Stones,” a book about Franciscan theology. Affiliates are invited to be part of a companion community, a group of five to eight sisters and affiliates who gather monthly for faith-sharing.
