Wendie Libert: Interim Coordinator

Wendie has been a lay affiliate of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration for thirty years and brings with her a wealth of experience in health and healing, spiritual direction, nursing and spirituality education, program administration, and community visioning and strategic planning. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Viterbo College in 1983, a Master of Arts in Servant Leadership from Viterbo University in 2007, and a Master of Arts in Holistic Health Studies-Doctor of Nursing Practice Dual Degree from St. Catherine University in May of this year. Wendie comes to us from Washburn, Wisconsin. She and her husband, Kelly have three grown children, two grandchildren, and their dog Wellington.

Sister Karen Kappell, FSPA: Artist

Karen Kappell, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, is an artist and teacher who has used these skills in combination with spiritual direction training to create programs and opportunities that develop the creative potential in those who attend Marywood. She believes that the quiet and beauty of Marywood’s surroundings contribute to bringing forth the creativity that lies within each person. Sister Karen has a studio in her residence where she produces art in a variety of media, in addition to coming to Marywood to share her talents. She is also available as a certified spiritual director.
