Enhancing Watercolor Painting with Negative Painting
Monday, May 2 – 9:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
Presenter: Karen Kappell, FSPA
One of the most difficult concepts to grasp in watercolor painting is negative painting (painting the space around something to articulate the form). In traditional watercolor it is beneficial to learn how to see this way and in this workshop we will concentrate on developing the ability to do so. Bring 8×10 inch sheets of 140# paper, brushes, and watercolor paints. You could also bring an unfinished watercolor painting that is subdued in color that could be finished with negative painting.
Fee: $30.00; bring a lunch. Register by Tuesday, April 26.
